Social Services Division - UpCounty Hub
Case Management – The UpCounty Hub has an on-site case manager to help clients access SNAP (food stamps) and other County resources such as; Childcare Scholarship, Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA), Temporary Disability Assistance Program (TDAP), Montgomery Cares/Care4Kids, Dental Service
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federal social program often referred to as “Food Stamps” that provides benefits to low-income individuals and families with food necessities. Those applying must meet certain requirements to be found eligible. If approved, the individual or family will be mailed an Electronic Benefit Transfer card (EBT-card) where designated funds for FOOD ONLY will be loaded onto the card monthly.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for SNAP you must be:

A U.S citizen
-
A lawful permanent resident for 5 years
-
A lawful permanent resident for any period of time with a disability
-
A refugee or asylum seeker with refugee or asylee status
-
·A U.S. citizen child under 18, regardless of their parent’s citizenship status

Heads of households do not need an SSN to apply for SNAP benefits for others in their household.

As of January 16, 2021, students who are considered “half-time” by their educational institutions qualify for SNAP until the end of the public health emergency if they:

Are eligible to participate in state or federally financed work study during the regular school year.

They have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of 0 in the current academic year (based on the FAFSA- Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Meet one of the qualifying SNAP eligibility requirements stated above.

Diaper Distribution Program
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The Upcounty Hub’s Diaper Distribution Program serves children ages 0-3 years of age.
If a child over the age of 3 requires diapers due to a medical condition or special needs, a note from their medical provider is required.
We offer diaper sizes ranging from 0 to 6, but we do not carry pull-ups.
We do not require proof of income.
To be eligible, applicants must provide proof of identity and address for the parent or guardian, as well as proof of the child’s age.
Applications can be submitted in person via a paper form or online through our Microsoft Form.
Once the application is completed, applicants will receive a phone call with their appointment date and time for diaper pick-up.
