LEAF Youth Program
The LEAF (Learning for the Environment, Agriculture and Food) Program is an opportunity for youth to explore Common Good City Farm through our class sessions and garden drop in sessions. Youth can join for all 4 days each week or pick and choose. Program is drop in, no advance registration required, but we ask families to complete the linked registration form the first time they come.
LEAF class curriculum is designed for 5-12 year old students but activities are flexible and all ages are welcome to join, especially at Youth Garden Hours. In this program youth gain basic gardening skills, learn about healthful eating habits and get the opportunity to create healthy snacks and take home recipes!
All sessions are drop in, for the LEAF class (Thursday and Sunday) it is recommended to plan to attend the full time, for youth garden hours (Tuesday and Wednesday) you are welcome to come anytime within that window and stay for a quick visit or the full time available.

Throughout the year, Common Good offers Seed to Table Workshops about various aspects of gardening, nutrition, and cooking. Most workshops are held on the farm and all are open to the public.

Bring your class/ club to Common Good for a unique opportunity to see an urban farm in action!
What will you see and do?
Field trip topics include: plant needs, composting, vegetable harvesting, insects and pollinators, food justice and nutrition. Students are engaged in hands on activities on the farm in order to reinforce learning. Tasks and activities will differ for different age groups.
Field trips can be tailored to specific class requests and the material covered meets DCPS standards.
View ProgramCertificate Program in Regenerative Agriculture
Common Good City Farm will be offering training and certification in Regenerative Urban Agriculture.
The program will run once a week starting in mid-March and running until October, with breaks for holidays noted on the schedule below. Participants will gain the awareness and skills needed to successfully manage land for small-scale crop production using organic, regenerative and climate responsive techniques. Topics covered will include how to plan crops and keep records, propagation and planting techniques, irrigation types and installation, how to manage pests in an integrated system, best harvest practices, composting and more. Participants will have the opportunity to complete two levels over the course of 7 months. Certificates are part of a series whereby successful completion of each level is required to move on to the following.

Buy produce and more from Common Good City Farm and our partner farms at our Farm Market! We will continue to offer a pay-what-you-can model. When we ring you up at the market, we will provide a suggested retail price. However we ask you to self assess and decide if you can pay more, less, or the suggested amount.
We accept Produce Plus, EBT, WIC, Senior FMNP, along with other forms of payment. We also have SNAP matching that can triple the value of your SNAP benefits.
